New Conveyor Belts Cuts Energy Costs up to 37 Percent
The conveyor belts from the Amp Miser series are particularly energy efficient and have innovative smooth layers on the underside. This reduces friction when the belts run over conveying tables, used for example in baggage conveyor systems at airports, or in logistics centres. Because there is less friction, energy consumption is cut drastically. As a result, smaller drive motors can be used. The conveyor belts (patent pending) are currently being used in long-term trials on the baggage conveying systems of several airlines at American airports. Independent institutes and companies have examined the belts’ efficiency. They concluded that by using the new Amp Miser belts, energy costs can be reduced by up to 37 percent compared with conventional belts, depending on capacity and load. The Amp Miser belts are also around 3 decibels quieter than traditional belt types.
Forbo Siegling will be presenting a further innovation, a belt from the Siegling Transilon conveyor and processing belts series. Due to a new combination of materials, the conveyor belt with longitudinal grooves offers a very high level of drag and makes inclined conveying at an angle of up to 30° possible.
